About Me

My name is Patrick Lerner and I’m a 21 year old guy from Germany.

I’m currently studying computer science at the TU Darmstadt. I’ve graduated from the AKG Bensheim with my main subjects being English and Physics. At my old school, I was helping out as a “student administrator” in our school, helping administrate around 150 desktop and laptop computers, two (virtualized) Windows Server 2003 and a Debian Linux Server and helping to develop our SIS (School Internal System), an Intranet for our school.

In my spare time I do lots and lots of music listening using my awesome Stereo System at home, my AKG K-240 Studio Headphones or using my rockboxed iPod Classic 1G iPhone 4s.

I’m also quite interested in Movies and even more in TV Shows. My favourite shows include ‘Castle’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Firefly’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Moonlight’ and ‘Warehouse 13′. In movies I generally tend to like (Romantic-/Light-) Comedy and Sci-Fi (especially everything about time-travel and computers/hackers) and some, but certainly not all Action Movies.

I also like books, especially stuff about the Victorian Age (Jane Austen, Ken Follet’s ‘A Dangerous Fortune’) and comedic books (say Nick Hornby’s). Occasionally I also read comic books (REALLY big fan of Brian Wood’s ‘Demo’ and I still fancy the occasional ‘Uncle Scrooge’ and of course: ‘Calvin and Hobbes’ – my all-time favourite comic strip).

I’m not that much in to video games at the moment, but I do like the GTA Series, not for the violence or the crime, but mostly for the amazing feeling of freedom the game provides (do whatever you want). I also like old adventure games like ‘The Feeble Files‘ (really awesome, check it out if you don’t know it). Also any indie game with a concept that I can pick up within 5 or less minutes is usually popular with me (at least until I played it through two or three times).
